A Day in the Life

Franchise Services Manager
Parsippany, N.J.

I work directly with our franchisees, acting as their first point of contact for resolving any problems they might have. I’m constantly on the phone, which means I get to know them fairly well. You develop a personal relationship with them. You learn what they’re like, their mannerisms and their personalities. I take pride in knowing that they place their trust in me to help make their businesses more successful.

My franchisees are wonderful, and so are my associates. No matter where you work, it helps to be surrounded by friendly, reliable coworkers. We have a very family-like relationship here which allows me to feel comfortable going to my boss and coworkers. Their leadership not only inspires me to do my job better, but makes the work experience that much more enjoyable.

Director - Customer Marketing
VRG-UK

I joined the Holiday Cottages Group as a Marketing Assistant.

Since then I’ve been provided with a range of career opportunities which allowed me to develop my skills knowledge and experience in a number of different roles. I’ve worked across a range of products & occupied the roles of brand manager, e-commerce manager, marketing development manager, and customer marketing manager & most recently as director – customer marketing.

In my current role I oversee the marketing function of the UK cottages & villas business with responsibility for brand management, product management, pricing, product development, marketing distribution and publishing services. As a marketing team, our purpose is to understand what customers are looking to buy, develop the appropriate products and secure cost effective routes to market.

To be in contact with travel agents throughout the world and to study the strategies to respond to the requirements of every market is truly exciting. We sell a wonderful product. When we visit a house and get to know the house owner, they often welcome us like we are part of the family. Participating in the success of the company, and in my case particularly, the success of France, makes me proud and continually gives me more energy to give the best of myself.
